Considering Custom Furniture? Here’s What You Need to Know

If you’re searching for items and accessories that perfectly match your needs for comfort, style and color, custom furniture design is the ideal choice. Here are a few factors to keep in mind when embarking on the process of designing your dream sofa, chair, table or dining set.

Take time into account.

Since your item will be made to order, keep in mind that it won’t be available right away. Your designer should be able to give you a time estimate up-front, but count on it taking about eight weeks in most cases.

Collect photos to help convey what you want.

While you see “dark navy blue”, your designer may see a different shade or hue. Collect photos on your mobile device to serve as examples instead of just saying what you want.

Consider the size.

If you’re having furniture custom made, ensure it’s the proper size for your space. Your designer can help determine the best measurements for the item you’re expecting.

If you’re looking for custom furniture, we highly recommend options from Bradley. Chrisicos Interiors is the first retailer not only in the city of Boston, but in the entire state of Massachusetts to feature Bradley’s items, currently on display in our luxury design showroom.

Kathie first worked with Bradley’s products when designing an Atlanta high-rise home, and she realized how important it would be to make these designs available locally to Boston clients.

The concrete tables in our luxury design showroom can be customized in height and they come in an array of colors. Visit and see them yourself or contact Chrisicos Interiors at 617-699-9462 to schedule an appointment and learn more about custom furniture design in Boston.

** Be sure to save the date of November 2. Chrisicos Interiors will host a cocktail party in our luxury design showroom for Rosecrans Baldwin of Dedar. He will entertain and showcase fabrics and wall coverings from Dedar and Hermès, two brands with a 40-year history at the forefront of the luxury home furnishing industry. **
